A Man and his Dog



He had a big old dog with a coat of pure brown
They were always together he even took him to town
If you saw one you were sure to see the other
Some people say he thought the man was his mother
He wasn't a watchdog and he sure couldn't hunt
Sometimes he couldn't tell his back from his front
Yet he was the man's friend and that counts for a lot
He called the dog Jack but as to why he forgot
